Old Trafford legends Gary Neville and Roy Keane had anything other than United opinions when summarising the 1-1 draw with Arsenal .

Manchester United led at half-time through a well-taken goal from Scot McTominay, before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang equalised just before the hour-mark.

Both Man Utd icons, teammates of the infamous treble-winning side of 1999 - were part of Sky Sports’ punditry team for the match, but had differing viewpoints at full time.

Neville felt the match was a ‘really good game to watch’ that highlighted the roller-coaster season that lay ahead for both sides.

He said: "It's not what either team would've wanted. The Arsenal fans and players will have felt there was a big chance at win at Old Trafford. It lacked quality at times but in the second half it was a really good game to watch.

"Lots of endeavour, lots of chances, end-to-end, but you can just see in the end it's going to be a season of ups and downs for both teams."

Keane, meanwhile, saw things very differently…

“Gary Neville said it was a really good game – I must’ve been watching a different game,” he said. “I thought it was shocking.

“United lacked the belief to finish the game off – the game was there for the taking for United. I’m not sure what can Ole will take from it. There’s not too many positives.”

“We had the belief and quality but this United are lacking in both. The effort was there but they were lacking in quality.

"I thought United should go onto win comfortably but it’s a mix of belief, confidence and quality – a combination of all those things. They’re not cutting teams open. It’s all on the counter attack but that’s where the team is at. It’s hard work watching them but I bet it’s hard work for the players too.

"It’s not happening but you’ve got to keep persevering – they have to get a big result soon just to get some confidence.”
