The January transfer window is well and truly open now, with Arsene Wenger busy contemplating whether to make a move to bolster his Arsenal options.

Wenger is usually reluctant to do business in mid-season, but a spate of midfield injuries could force the French coach into the market in order to keep Arsenal's hopes of silverware on track.

Sanchez's current deal runs out in summer 2018, and the Mirror reports that Paris Saint-Germain are urging the "£60million" forward to delay his talks with the Gunners in order to launch a "cut-price" bid at the end of the season.

According to the paper, Sanchez would be able to command higher wages at PSG, with the French giants' director of fotball, Patrick Kluivert, a "huge fan" of Wenger's No.1 striker - who could be tempted given his recent frustrations against Bournemouth.

Wenger's recent statement about contract talks with Sanchez and Mesut Ozil is unlikely to fill Arsenal fans with hope: "It always starts with money, it finishes with money and in between the players want to stay or want to go.

"I think no matter what happens we'll try to keep them and we'll go as high as we can and if we cannot go further, we cannot go further. That's basically it. That's the way you have to manage a football club."

However, The Sun sugests that Wenger will put January transfers at the back of his mind in order to focus on securing new deals for Sanchez, Ozil and a host of their team-mates.

Wenger will reportedly aim to ensure that Ozil, Sanchez, Per Mertesacker, Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla's futures are all confirmed rather than look at new additions.

That doesn't mean Wenger does not have targets though, Juventus playmaker Miralem Pjanic and Torino striker Andrea Belotti said to be top of his list for the summer.
