QPR owner Tony Fernandes saluted Ian Holloway after the manager got off to a winning start on his return to Loftus Road.

Holloway began his second spell in charge at Loftus Road with a 2-1 win against Norwich on Saturday.

“Ollie is infectious,” said Fernandes. “Nothing in the world feels like Loftus Road when it is buzzing. I was super proud of our players and the fans were incredible.”

Fernandes believes Holloway, director of football Les Ferdinand and club ambassador Andy Sinton will help put Rangers on the right path following some disappointing years.

“We now have four QPR legends in the house,” he said. “I do not think many clubs can boast that. And it feels right. Blue is in their blood.”

QPR fans sang “We’ve got our Rangers back” as their side moved to within four points of the play-off places and Holloway said: “That really meant something to me.”

The 53-year-old, back at the club he left in 2006, added: “What a day. I need a lie down.
