QPR chairman Tony Fernandes is optimistic the club will sign at least two more players before the transfer window shuts tomorrow night.
The club are closing in on a £10m deal for Anzhi Makhachkala centre half Christopher Samba, who wants to return to England for personal reasons.
His family remained in this country when he moved from Blackburn to the Russian club last year and he is willing to play under manager Harry Redknapp.
Meanwhile, they have offered Porto defender Rolando a contract worth £42,000-a-week to persuade him to come to west London having already agreed a fee with the Portuguese club.
They face competition from Spartak Moscow and Napoli, although the latter only want to sign him on loan initially and Porto are only interested in a straight sale.
QPR are also looking to buy Peter Crouch and Peter Odemwingie from Stoke and West Brom respectively to strengthen their frontline.
Fernandes is certainly growing in confidence that the squad will be strengthened having missed out on a number of targets this month.
He said: “It’s not been a bed of roses, but we’ve still got our spirits up. Harry’s brought a new sense of belief.
“We’re working on a couple of players and we’re moderately optimistic. We’ll give it our best shot, that’s for sure.”
Rangers have finally completed the signing of South Korea international Yun Suk-Young from Chunnam Dragons after he was granted a work permit yesterday.
The left back has agreed a three-and-a-half year deal and will be eligible to play once he gets a visa.
He becomes the third acquisition this month with QPR buying Loic Remy for £8m and acquiring free agent Tal Ben Haim.
