Difference maker: Redknapp says Remy will be crucial in survival fight

Harry Redknapp says keeping Loic Remy could prove the difference between Queens Park Rangers staying up or not.

Remy’s future at Loftus Road is still uncertain after an £8.5million switch to Liverpool fell through last month.

As things stand, Remy will start QPR’s opening game at home against Hull on Saturday and Redknapp hopes the player will remain at Loftus Road. He told Standard Sport: “His goals could make the difference. If strikers get 14-15 goals for you, you need that if you’re going to survive.

“I didn’t have to persuade him [to play for QPR]. He just said ‘I’m back and I want to play’. Unless something massive comes up, he would like to stay here.

“There have been several clubs in the Premier League that have made an enquiry since Liverpool but I don’t think they’re ones he wants to leave QPR for.”
