Radja Nainggolan to Chelsea: Roma star admits Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois have told him to join the Blues

Radja Nainggolan has revealed that Chelsea duo Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois have urged him to leave Roma for the Blues this summer while Antonio Conte has also talked to the Belgium star about a transfer to England.

Nainggolan has four more years left on his current contract at Roma, but he revealed last week that Chelsea have had contact with the Serie A side about a summer move before labelling the chance to play in the Premier League as a "big deal".

The 28-year-old is one of Conte's primary targets to strengthen Chelsea's midfield, although Roma have insisted they do not want to sell Nainggolan this summer.

However, the player has admitted that Conte has had some help in his attempts to lure him to London by Chelsea pair Hazard and Courtois, who are currently with Nainggolan as part of Belgium's Euro 2016 squad.

"He [Conte] already wanted me when he was the Juve manager, but I’d already said I would never leave Roma for Juve," Nainggolan revealed. "Now he tries to get me to go to Chelsea.

"They (Hazard and Courtois) have told me to join them. I know Chelsea are a big club, but I have to take several things into account.

"It’s not easy to leave Italy behind after 12 years. I need to become better because of the transfer. In all ways. I won’t leave for a small difference."

Nainggolan admitted this week that while signing for Chelsea would help him develop his skills, the English weather could prevent him from switching Rome for London.

And he added: "People have been talking for 10 years that I will be joining another team, but I’ve only played for three clubs so far.

"You could say 'why not try it in England?' But you can ask the question the other way too – 'why would I leave everything behind to fail over there?'

"Conte told me what he expects from me and what type of player I can be for him. I’ll never be a player who’ll score 20 goals or give 20 assists.

"I’m not the one who’ll be in the picture all the time, but I can be important for a team. A manager who appreciates that is important for me."
