Real Madrid attacker Eden Hazard will be running again in the next few days, Belgium coach Roberto Martinez has revealed.

Hazard underwent ankle surgery in Dallas in early March after he was injured in only his second game back following a long spell on the sidelines and the 29-year-old was expected to miss the remainder of the season.

But with football currently suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, the former Chelsea favourite could possibly feature again for Los Blancos this term if the campaign is extended.

"Eden is doing well," Martinez told VTM in Belgium. "He hasn't had any setbacks and he will be able to run again in the next few days. We know he will return stronger.

"He was lucky that the operation took place just before the break due to coronavirus."

Hazard has made only 15 appearances for Madrid so far in an injury-interrupted first season at the Santiago Bernabeu, scoring just one goal.
