Real Madrid XI vs PSG: Starting lineup, confirmed team news and injury latest for Champions League game today

Marc Mayo9 March 2022

Real Madrid have Toni Kroos available for their decisive Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain tonight.

However, Casemiro and Ferland Mendy are both banned for the last-16 second leg at home to PSG, having accrued their respective third yellow cards of the competition.

Madrid must overturn a 1-0 deficit at the Bernabeu to reach the quarter-finals of a competition they have won 13 times.

German veteran Kroos missed the LaLiga victory over Real Sociedad on Saturday due to a hamstring problem but has been passed fit to start. Also returning is Federico Valverde, who suffered from flu over the weekend.

Dani Carvajal’s torrid night in Paris has not impacted Carlo Ancelotti’s selection, with the Spaniard preferred again to Lucas Vazquez at right-back.

Marcelo came off the bench in the weekend’s 4-1 win but picked up a knock, and he has to settle for a place on the bench, even in Mendy’s absence.

Starting XI: Courtois; Carvajal, Militao, Alaba, Nacho; Modric, Kroos, Fede Valverde; Asensio, Benzema, Vinicius

Subs: Lunin, Vallejo, Hazard, Marcelo, Jovic, Vazquez, Bale, Ceballos, Rodrygo, Isco, Mariano, Camavinga
