Final battle: The forgotten stars assemble to take on the clones

The world’s best football stars are preparing to grace the biggest stage of them all as Brazil warms up on the eve of the World Cup, but Nike’s new animated advert portrays a whole new world.

Dancing through the Brazilian favelas, displaying their silky footwork as they go, Neymar and co are abruptly halted by an evil scientist who picks apart their flaws.

Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo and Andres Iniesta are among those cast into insignificance when an army of ‘unbeatable’ clones take their places on the international circuit.

Gates plummet as football quickly loses its sparkle and the England man is forced to take up fishing, while Neymar Jr teams up with Chelsea star David Luiz to pursue a career in hairdressing.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic resorts to pushing sales of his autobiography ‘I Am Zlatan’ on a street corner, reminding customers of the man he used to be.

But, rallied by the belief of Brazil World Cup winner Ronaldo, who encourages the forgotten stars to ‘risk everything’ in a bid to bring the football world back from its knees, they return to challenge the clones in a winner-takes-all showdown.
