Robert Snodgrass has backed West Ham to beat Chelsea after they stopped the rot by beating Everton.

West Ham beat the Blues 1-0 last December, a result that triggered a run of one defeat in nine matches and took the club clear of danger.

Snodgrass believes the 3-1 win at Goodison Park, after four straight defeats at the start of the season, was the perfect boost for Sunday’s clash.

He said: “The important thing was to get that win as it gives us the confidence to beat Chelsea.

"When you get the confidence from winning away, you need to take it to your home stadium and win there, too.”

The Hammers host Chelsea before Manchester United come to town six days later. Brighton, rivals Tottenham and Leicester City are all lined up before the end of October.

West Ham have won three of the past four home games against Chelsea.
