Hull boss Marco Silva last night conceded that Robert Snodgrass could leave the club “in the next hours” after West Ham matched Burnley’s £10million bid.

The Hammers double swoop for Snodgrass and Brentford striker Scott Hogan remains tied to the future of wantaway star Dimitri Payet but it seems increasingly likely that West Ham have won the race for Hull’s top player.

After seeing a £6m bid rejected earlier in the window West Ham’s interest in Snodgrass appeared to have cooled but Burnley’s move spurred the club into action.

Snodgrass has not been in the squad for Hull’s last two games and Silva conceded that the 29-year-old had likely played his last game for the Tigers.

“We will try to keep our players but sometimes the club, manager and player want different things,” Silva said after his side’s 2-1 EFL Cup semi-final second leg win over Manchester United, a result that was not enough to reach the Wembley final.

“He has not trained since they did a deal with West Ham.

“It is possible it will be done in the next hours. For 10 days he has not been available to work with us and has told us he wants to leave.”
