Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea: £65m Blues return in doubt as striker's agent warns of Everton stay

Romelu Lukaku's agent has warned Chelsea that they now face a tougher task to re-sign the striker from Everton this summer.

Chelsea are considering buying the Belgium international back, just two years after he left for Goodison Park in a £28m deal.

Lukaku has scored 45 goals for Everton since then and new coach Antonio Conte wants him or Juventus striker Alvaro Morata to strengthen Chelsea's frontline.

However, Everton's new multi-millionaire owner Farhad Moshiri, who has just appointed Ronald Koeman as coach, is determined to keep the club's best players.

And Lukaku's representative Mino Raiola said: "Everton don't need money anymore. Romelu wants to play for a club that can win trophies.

"Something's changed at Everton: there's a new project. If he leaves, it's has to be a good deal for all parties involved."

As Standard Sport first revealed in April, Lukaku would like to return to Stamford Bridge because he feels he has unfinished business there, but the Toffees value him at £65million.

The 23-year-old started just one League game for the club after joining from Anderlecht in an £18m move in 2011.

Lukaku is currently with the Belgium squad at Euro 2016 and scored his first goals of the tournament with a fine brace against Ireland at the weekend.
