Brazilian icon Ronaldinho believes Liverpool now possess ‘one of the most exciting midfields in Europe’ after completing the signing of Firmino this week.
Brendan Rodgers side pipped Manchester United to the Brazil international on Wednesday, with the midfielder arriving from Hoffenheim for £30 million.
Liverpool now look set to add Sevilla’s Carlos Bacca and Nathaniel Clyne before the summer window shuts, while they also maintain interest in Inter Milan’s Mateo Kovacic.
The Anfield faithful were ecstatic to get one over their Manchester rivals, and are already heralding Firmino’s impending arrival a signal of intent ahead of the new campaign. An opinion shared by Brazil legend Ronaldinho.
The former Barcelona and AC Milan star believes that a midfield of Firmino and Coutinho would represent a ‘dream’ for any striker, before backing the club to qualify for the Champions League.
“It is going to give them one of the most exciting midfields in Europe,” the Brazil icon told the Mirror. “The creativity, intelligence, and goals they have between them can change Liverpool as a team.”
