Roy Keane will be among the speakers at the London Sports Writing Festival which returns to Lord’s next month.

The Manchester United great will appear with author Roddy Doyle to discuss his new autobiography, The Second Half, which has been written in collaboration with the Booker prize-winning author.

Keane, now assistant boss with Aston Villa and the Republic of Ireland, will provide one of the highlights of the festival, which is in association with the MCC and supported by the Evening Standard.

The Festival, which is in its second year, will run from October 23 to 26 and other speakers will include Olympic cycling gold medal winner Nicole Cooke and Wales rugby great Gareth Thomas.

The spotlight will also be turned on great sporting figures such as Bobby Moore with Trevor Brooking, Louis Van Gaal, Kevin Pietersen, and Arsenal’s ‘Invincibles’ featuring Sol Campbell and David Dein.

This year also sees the introduction of sports writing and sports photography masterclasses where top names will pass on some of their knowledge. More details on londonsportswritingfestival.com and from @lswf2014.
