Ryan Mason has thanked former club Tottenham for raising money to support a brain injury charity following his skull fracture.

Mason suffered the injury after clashing heads with Chelsea's Gary Cahill during Hull's 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge on January 22.

He underwent surgery at St. Mary's Hospital in Paddington that evening and was discharged several days later to continue his recovery at home.

Mason said he felt 'lucky to be alive' following the incident and the footballing community rallied around him with many former clubs showing their support.

Spurs wore t-shirts with the message 'get well soon, Ryan' ahead of their FA Cup match against Wycombe on January 28 and have since put them up for auction on eBay.

The shirts have been signed by the Tottenham first team and 100 per cent of proceeds will go to Headway - a charity set up to give help and support to people affected by brain injury - at Mason's request.
