Sam Allardyce's England have no margin for error during 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign

England kick-off their 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign against Slovakia on Sunday aiming to get over their embarrassing exit at Euro 2016.

Sam Allardyce is the man charged with restoring national pride as public opinion in regards to the team is anything but positive following defeat to Iceland.

And Allardyce can scarcely afford to oversee a slow start to his spell in charge, with only the team that finishes top set to qualify automatically for the World Cup.

Anything less than that would be likely to result in uproar given that the Three Lions will be favourites to progress at the expense of tomorrow's opponents as well as Scotland, Slovenia, Lithuania and Malta.

Meanwhile, eyebrows have been raised after Allardyce opted to not only name his side for tomorrow's game early but also because it features eight of the 11 players who flopped in Nice just three months ago.

Chris Smalling, Dele Alli and Daniel Sturridge will make way for John Stones, Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana to disprove those who believed Allardyce would rock the boat.

Can Allardyce finally find a formula for success or will it be a case of more of the same and yet more disappointment for Three Lions supporters?
