Savage luck for Still's men

Ian Gibb11 April 2012

John Still is convinced Dagenham and Redbridge deserved to beat Brighton last night.

The runaway League One leaders made it eight wins in a row as Glenn Murray scored the game's only goal when he volleyed in off the bar after 59 minutes.

But hosts, Dagenham, carved out a string of chances with Bas Savage somehow hitting the bar from three yards.

Manager Still said: "I couldn't have asked for more. It was one of those games where you say the best team didn't win."

Relieved Brighton boss Gus Poyet said: "The first half was the worst we have played for a while but you have to give credit to Dagenham."
