Idol: Aguero wants to emulate his father-in-law

Sergio Aguero wants to emulate the success his father-in-law Diego Maradona enjoyed in Naples at Manchester City.

Maradona, the legendary World Cup-winning Argentine, will forever be revered at Napoli after inspiring the Italian club to two Serie A titles and a UEFA Cup win between 1987 and 1990.

Aguero will step into his shadow tonight as City take on Napoli at the San Paolo Stadium looking to secure a place in the knockout stage of the Champions League.

Aguero has scored 11 times in 15 appearances since his £38million summer move from Atletico Madrid, but the 23-year-old dreams of reaching his compatriot's heights.

"In the past he told me everything about Napoli, and I have also seen on TV what he did, how important he was for the fans," he said. "It is my dream, doing what Maradona did for Napoli, doing the same for Manchester City."

SIR ALEX FERGUSON wants to do justice to the memory of Sir Matt Busby when Manchester United take on Benfica at Old Trafford tonight.

United beat the Portuguese giants at Wembley in 1968 to become the first English club to lift the European Cup.

"We will try to do justice to the memory of Sir Matt's tussles with Benfica," said Ferguson. "I just hope I measure up in that way."
