Sevilla have entered the race for Lucas Perez, according to the Arsenal striker’s agent Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle.

The Spanish striker is set to depart Arsenal less than a year after his £17million move from Deportivo La Coruna and appears most likely to return to La Liga.

Arsenal would want to recoup the majority of the fee they paid last year for Lucas but would be reluctant to stand in the way of a striker who has grown frustrated with the peripheral role he has been handed around the Emirates.

His agent told Radio Gallega: “The idea is to be able to play for another club. We want to leave and Arsenal already know.

“Do you know anyone who is happy but has no opportunities?

“The key date is July 3rd when Arsenal’s preseason begins,” Lovelle added.

“Anything is possible – the president of Depor can do wonders, while last year I met with Sevilla, who again are interested.”

Lucas is not the only Arsenal striker whose future is in doubt this summer, with Arsenal prepared to use Olivier Giroud as a makeweight in their pursuit of Kylian Mbappe.

Even if that ambitious move falls through Giroud could be allowed to move on if Arsenal can find a replacement for him. West Ham would not be dissuaded by a £20m asking price and could match his £100,000-a-week wage demands.
