Martin Keown has said that West Ham manager Slaven Bilic is on borrowed time after their defeat to Brighton on Friday night.

After all the talk in the build-up to the game surrounding making the London Stadium feel further like home and taking their game up a level in terms of entertainment, the Hammers were hapless.

While Bilic firmly shouldered the blame for the defeat on Friday night, also admitting he didn’t know if he’d be given time to turn things around, Keown feels it’s time to make a change.

“His post-match interview sounded like he was on death row,” Keown said on BT Sport.

“He didn’t give a good enough explanation as to why he should be kept in the job.

“He’s on borrowed time, something has to change.

“To lose 3-0 to Brighton, a newly promoted team, they didn’t really play with any confidence, certainly the last time I saw them at the Emirates, it just cannot happen.”
