Taunting Crystal Palace were a disgrace, says Roman Bednar

Hitting back: Roman Bednar says Palace players goaded him over his drugs ban

West Brom striker Roman Bednar has launched an astonishing attack on Crystal Palace's players and former manager Neil Warnock ahead of the Eagles' crucial survival clash tonight, accusing them of taunting him about drugs.

Bednar was banned for three months and given a police caution for drug offences last year and claims he was called "a drug dealer" by Palace players during their 1-0 win at the Hawthorns in September.

He said: "Palace were disgraceful. I think it was a Warnock job the players did to me. It was seven [Palace players] at me for the whole game. They were shouting, 'You are a drug dealer'. Another said, 'Have you got any drugs?' That was really disappointing. On the pitch I will never try and give cheap shots."

The 27-year-old is clearly looking for revenge tonight at Selhurst Park, where he would love to add to his tally of 11 goals for the season.

Palace boss Paul Hart, still uncertain about his future, knows a win puts his team safe after a nightmare season, which saw the club enter administration.

He said: "If we play as we can, we can do it. If these players manage to stay up, they should be revered for it."
