Team GB will start their bid to win the London 2012 men's football tournament at Old Trafford, it was announced today.
And although Stuart Pearce's side will also play in Wales despite that country's Football Association not wanting their men to be in the team, they won't play in Scotland.
Team GB will be at Old Trafford on July 26 and then Wembley for their second game three days later. Pearce's men will round off their group matches at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on August 1.
If they finish in the top two they will progress to the quarter‑finals, which are being staged at the three grounds they would have played at and St James' Park, Newcastle's stadium which the club today controversially renamed as the Sports Direct Arena.
Glasgow's Hampden Park is only hosting three group games in the men's tournament although it is also staging one of the women's quarter-finals.
Team GB's women's side, managed by Hope Powell, will play their first two group games at the Millennium Stadium before finishing at Wembley.
The fixtures have been released after it was announced that tickets for the football fixtures will go back on sale on November 29.
"The prospect of Team GB taking part in the Games has captured the imagination of the public," said Debbie Jevans, director of sport for the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games. "With teams like Spain and Brazil already qualified and fantastic venues across the country, the Olympic football tournaments promise to be a great family day out."
The draw for both tournaments will be made on April 24.
