Gary Cahill is not concerned about the goalscoring form of Chelsea’s record buy Alvaro Morata.

The 24-year-old played for just 21 minutes as a late substitute and missed one of the penalties as Chelsea suffered a shoot-out deaft to Arsenal in the Community Shield.

Morata has yet to score since joining from Real Madrid for an initial £58million but Cahill said: “He’s okay. He’s got a lot of Spanish boys in our team, so it’s easier to settle in.

“He’s been welcomed in. I’m sure he feels part of the group already and it’s just a matter of time for him.

“I can imagine it’s different, you’re bringing all your family over, trying to make that transition.

“But there’s no problems with him, he’s a massive player, he’s massively experienced, even at that young age.

“Of course, the sooner they get a goal, it goes for any forward, you feel like you’re up and running, so the sooner the better for him.

“Michy Batshuayi has been scoring a lot of goals preseason as well, so they’re going to be vital for us this year, we’re going to rely on them a lot for sure.”
