Thibaut Courtois believes this week could be decisive in the Premier League title race.

The goalkeeper believes if Chelsea beat Liverpool tonight and Arsenal at home on Saturday, they will not be caught.

He told Standard Sport: “Yes, it is a defining week in the title race. If we can do well against those two teams and the gap gets bigger, that is obviously important.

“Also, we can go against Liverpool and Arsenal with a better feeling. They will have more pressure to win than us.”

The Belgian international also believes Chelsea’s experience in winning the Premier League two years ago will help.

Arsenal have not been champions for 13 years, Liverpool 27 years and Tottenham 56 years.

Courtois said: “It is important to know if you have already played for a title, you know what it takes to keep going on a run, to be in front and to get the moments you need to win games.

“The most important thing about the players who have won titles is they won’t panic in the difficult moments, where maybe other players who haven’t experienced it yet maybe get upset, panic when something doesn’t go as planned.”
