Thomas Partey is hoping to be fit to face Liverpool on Saturday.

The Arsenal midfielder missed his side’s last match, a 1-0 win over Watford on November 7, after complaining of a tight groin.

As a result, Partey did not link up with Ghana during the international break and has instead been working at the Gunners’ training base.

Arsenal have been assessing all their players who were on international duty and an update on them, and Partey, is expected at Mikel Arteta’s pre-match press conference on Friday morning.

The absence of Partey at Anfield would leave Arteta with a headache in midfield, with Granit Xhaka already sidelined due to a knee injury.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Albert Sambi Lokonga were paired together for the win over Watford and would most likely start again, although Mohamed Elneny is another option.

Arsenal head to Liverpool looking to extend their unbeaten run to 11 games.
