Tim Cahill will hold more talks with Millwall this week about a return to the Den.

Cahill is a free agent after he left Melbourne City last month and he is searching for a new club to play regular football ahead of the World Cup this summer.

The 38-year-old Australian, who made 249 appearances for Millwall between 1998-2004, wants to play in England and is due to have discussions with Neil Harris.

The Millwall manager is keen to sign his former team-mate for the backend of the Championship season.

Cahill is remembered at Millwall and Everton as a midfielder but he is now a striker and would be brought in as a forward option.

He can be signed after the transfer deadline on Wednesday because he is a free agent.
