Tony Pulis is banking on Crystal Palace fan power

Tony Pulis has called on Crystal Palace fans to crank up the volume at Selhurst Park as his side battle to stay in the Premier League — starting against West Ham tomorrow.

Palace lost 1-0 at Norwich on Saturday in what was Pulis’s first match in charge since being appointed nine days ago.

Despite the defeat, which sent them back to the bottom of the table, Pulis feels there were plenty of positives on which to build a successful survival battle.

There was a large travelling contingent at Carrow Road, and Pulis called on those fans to be in full voice again tomorrow.

“I thought the Palace support was absolutely brilliant on Saturday, as they have been all season, and we will need them,” said Pulis. “It is very important that they pick the baton up, which they have. I can’t fault them one bit.

“I think Selhurst Park is [intimidating]. The times I have watched the games this year, the crowd have been wonderful.

“If we can turn the volume up a little bit more for the West Ham game, then that will help the players.”
