Harry Kane posted an emotional message to Tottenham fans after their final game of a difficult season for the club.

Spurs signed off an unsatisfactory campaign with a 4-1 win at Elland Road, with Kane’s 27th and 28th Premier League goals of the season helping to relegate Leeds.

The England captain has been a lone shining light in a miserable season for Tottenham that has seen the club go through three managers.

Kane’s future is uncertain, with the 29-year-old having just one year left on his contract. Manchester United and Bayern Munich have been linked with a possible move this summer.

Writing on Twitter, Kane said “It goes without saying that the season didn’t go how we wanted it to but I can only thank the fans for their relentless support all year,” he said.

“There were some personal highlights that I’ll always remember – becoming the club’s all-time leading goalscorer fills me with incredible pride. Time for some rest, England duty and some family time!”

Kane is due to link up with the England squad ahead of their upcoming Euro 2024 qualifies against Malta and North Macedonia on June 16 and 19.
