Tottenham and Manchester United are the latest Premier League teams to take a knee to show their support for Black Lives Matter.

Spurs and United returned to action for the first time in over 100 days on Friday night, meeting in a highly anticipated clash at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Following worldwide protests after the death of American citizen George Floyd, Premier League clubs and players have shown solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement.

Instead of the names on the back of their shirts, players are wearing the words 'Black Lives Matter' for the first 12 fixtures of the season.

A Black Lives Matter logo will also feature on jerseys for the remainder of the campaign.

The return of Premier League football on Wednesday - Aston Villa vs Sheffield United before Manchester City vs Arsenal - saw players from all four teams, as well as match officials, take the knee for 10 seconds after the referee blew for kick-off.

And Spurs and United followed suit on Friday, with Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's players sending a powerful anti-racism message to the world.

United confirmed before the game that if fans buy replica shirts with 'Black Lives Matter' printed on the back, then the £10 printing proceeds will be donated to Kick It Out.
