Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen will miss Denmark's international friendly against the Czech Republic with a minor injury, the Danish FA has confirmed.

Eriksen scored twice in his nation's 4-1 World Cup qualifying victory over Kazakhstan on Friday night, including a superb individual effort.

But the 24-year-old will play no further part in the international break and has not travelled with the rest of Age Hareide's squad ahead of Tuesday's friendly.

The Danish FA tweeted: "Christian Eriksen is slightly injured and therefore will not travel to the Czech Republic."

Eriksen has struggled for form in recent weeks but a potential spell on the sidelines will represent a blow for Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino, whose side host West Ham on November 19.

Dele Alli has already been ruled out for "a few weeks" with a knee problem and Pochettino could be short of options in the number 10 role if Eriksen does not recover in time to face Slaven Bilic's side.

Mousa Dembele and Vincent Janssen have also picked up knocks on international duty, with the latter suffering concussion while playing for the Netherlands.

Toby Alderweireld is also thought to be edging towards a return from the knee injury he suffered ruing October's draw at West Brom.
