Tottenham’s international break has gone from bad to worse after Oliver Skipp and Steven Bergwijn suffered injuries on Wednesday night.

Skipp was forced off with a groin injury in England Under-21’s 2-0 win over Kosovo and the midfielder was set to be assessed by the club this morning.

Bergwijn was replaced after an hour of the Netherlands’ 6-1 thrashing of Turkey and finished the match with heavy strapping and ice on his left foot. The winger is also set be assessed on returning to Spurs.

Both players have started all three League games this season.

Ryan Sessegnon is already out of the Saturday lunchtime game at Crystal Palace after suffering a knock on England Under-21 duty, while Heung-min Son is a doubt for that match after a calf strain ruled him out of South Korea’s win over Lebanon yesterday.

Spurs will definitely be without South Americans Giovani Lo Celso, Cristian Romero and Davinson Sanchez for the trip to Selhurst Park and Thursday’s Europa Conference League match at Rennes, with the trio currently training in Croatia to avoid a 10-day quarantine on returning to the UK.

In better news, centre-half Joe Rodon has been added to the Wales squad for tonight’s World Cup qualifier at home to Estonia after recovering from injury and he could replace Sanchez in the side this weekend.

Asked about Skipp, England Under-21 boss Lee Carsley said: "I saw him on the treatment table with some ice on his groin and he said there was just a bit of stiffness there.

"Oli is a really robust player so the intensity he plays at, he is 100 per cent for 90 minutes. He was excellent and he is going to be a really important part of the team for us."
