Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has said that people are ‘getting ahead of themselves’ over talk of a summer move to Manchester United.
Louis van Gaal is believed to be keen on bringing the 28-year-old to Old Trafford this summer, with Manchester United expected to lose David de Gea to La Liga giants Real Madrid.
But speaking ahead of France’s friendly clash with Belgium on Sunday night, Lloris insisted that talk of a move to Old Trafford was premature.
Lloris told Telefoot: “You're getting ahead of yourselves.”
“For the moment, there is a keeper in place at Manchester United. Keep a cool head over it."
Lloris’ comments come a week after Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino hit back at the ‘rumours’ linking his star man with a move away from the club.
Speaking after Tottenham’s 1-0 victory over Sydney FC last weekend, Spurs boss Pochettino insisted that the France No.1 was ‘happy’ at White Hart Lane.
“There have been a lot of rumours, but Hugo wants to stay with us and we are happy with him too,” said Pochettino.
“He is happy and everything else is just rumour.”
