Harry Kane was proud to be part of a "great night for English football" as Germany were memorably overcome at the Olympiastadion.

It may not have been as important as the 1966 World Cup final or comprehensive as the 5-1 win in 2001, but few will forget Saturday's friendly in Berlin.

Trailing to Toni Kroos and Mario Gomez goals, England rallied manfully through Kane's fine goal and an exceptional Jamie Vardy flick.

Eric Dier's stoppage-time header wrapped up a 3-2 victory that left his Tottenham team-mate reflecting on a match to remember.

"It was a great night for English football," Kane said.

"To be 2-0 down, which probably wasn't deserved as we were playing well, and then turn it around and win 3-2 was special.

"I thought the team were excellent tonight and we fully deserved the win and that can give us great confidence going forward.

"Goals change games and my goal came at the right time and really gave us a boost for the final 20 minutes or so. It was important but the lads never gave in.

"We kept going and kept going and got the three goals which ain't easy in Germany."

While Dier's header was the match-winning moment and Vardy's flick was majestic, Kane's strike was the game-changing moment.

The in-form Spurs striker fired across Manuel Neuer to start the comeback following a lovely Cruyff turn, just days after the Dutch great passed away.

"It was sad news in the week with the death of Johan Cruyff so it was nice to do a Cruyff turn and finish it off," he said.

"It was great feeling and one I won't forget."
