Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce does not fear losing Wilfried Zaha on a permanent basis in the January transfer window.

Palace will be without the winger in the coming weeks after he opted to switch international allegiance and represent Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations next month.

"I knew before I got here that he was going (to the African Nations Cup) and good luck to him," Allardyce said.

"It's fantastic for him, but obviously a big loss for us."

Tottenham made an offer of around £14m for the 24-year-old in the summer and remain interested, but Allardyce says the club will not entertain bids in the coming weeks.

Speaking at his first press conference as Palace boss, Allardyce added: "There's no potential for losing him [Zaha] permanently, according to the chairman this morning."

Zaha has been granted an extra two days with the Palace squad so he can feature in the club's crunch relegation battle against Swansea at Selhurst Park on January 3 before jetting off to a training camp in Abu Dhabi.
