Dele Alli believes Manchester City’s rivals have work to do this summer to close the gap on the new champions.

City beat Tottenham 3-1 on Saturday and were crowned Premier League champions less than 24 hours later, when Manchester United were beaten by West Brom.

Tottenham are on course for a top-four finish and can restore their 10-point advantage over fifth-placed Chelsea if they win at Brighton on Tuesday.

Spurs will try to bring in another centre-back in the summer, as well as a left-back and another attacker.

Alli said: “Everyone will look to improve. Especially in the top six, no one will want to let the gap get too big. It is not up to me to say what we need to improve. City are a great side and I expect everyone to get stronger.”

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is likely to adjust his line-up for their visit to the Amex Stadium, ahead of his side’s FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United on Saturday.

Heung-Min Son and Serge Aurier, both of whom were on the bench against City, could start.
