Capital gains: Reid could move to Spurs

West Ham central defender Winston Reid looks increasingly likely to move to London rivals Tottenham in the summer.

New Zealand international Reid has made 105 League appearances for West Ham but is out of contract in the summer and, although he is prohibited from signing a formal pre-contract with another English club, is believed to have agreed, in principle, a £60,000-per-week deal with Spurs. Arsenal and Liverpool have also been rumoured to be interested in the 26-year-old, who has consistently refused offers of a new deal from West Ham.

The Upton Park club were still hopeful of persuading him to stay but would have been tempted to sell him in this transfer window, had they received offers of £6million or more.

That seems unlikely, though, with Reid available for nothing when his contract expires at the end of June.
