Standard Sport assesses the individual performances from Tottenham's clash with West Ham at White Hart Lane.
Tottenham did it again, with a late comeback securing them a point they did little to deserve after a fine counterattacking performance by West Ham.
Sam Allardyce was left fuming after a freak goal and debatable penalty, where Spurs’ star striker seemed to have dived, took two points from the visitors.
An organised defensive display by West Ham, coupled with dangerous counterattacking from the visitor’s full backs, seemed to have kept at bay a Tottenham side that had plenty of the ball but did very little with it.
Another headed goal from Cheikhou Kouyate and a smart finish from a tight angle by Diafra Sakho put the Hammers on course for three points, with Adrian saving superbly from Roberto Soldado late on.
But a bouncing volley from Danny Rose looped over Adrian to bring Spurs back into the match. And then in the last minute Harry Kane was pushed by Alex Song, though he seemed to already be going down. Kane’s penalty was saved by Adrian but the striker pounced on the rebound to draw the home side level.
For Spurs this comeback will feel like a victory, even if it does leave them three points of the Champions League places. Allardyce will need to work hard to lift a West Ham side that are still stuck on just one league win since Christmas.
