Christian Eriksen's agent is hopeful the midfielder can seal a move away from Tottenham this summer.

Real Madrid target Eriksen has confirmed he wants to leave Spurs, telling Ekstra Bladet he wants to “try something new”.

The Denmark international has just a year to run on his current £70,000-a-week deal, and talks have stalled over a new contract.

Eriksen’s agent Martin Schoots told Standard Sport: “Last season there were three clubs, two English and one foreign, interested in paying a huge amount to Spurs.

“For the club it was then a no-go area and for Christian not a must-have. I have the impression we are in a new situation now.”

Real are among a number of clubs to have shown interest in Eriksen, with Zinedine Zidane plotting a major overhaul of his squad before the start of the new campaign.
