Mauricio Pochettino doesn't think Tottenham's emphatic 3-1 win over Chelsea was his team's best performance of the season but laid down a challenge to repeat such a showing in the coming days.
Spurs blew away a Chelsea side who came into the London derby clash at Wembley unbeaten in all competitions since Maurizio Sarri took over in the summer to leapfrog the Blues in the Premier League standings.
Inter Milan visit Wembley in the Champions League on Tuesday night just five days before they take on north London rivals Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
"No, I don't believe [it was our best of the season]," he told reporters. "I don't believe it was the best we've been. The performance was good but I don’t believe it was the best. The next one maybe!
"When you win it looks like the plan was there for the manager. It was about desire. The tactic or the system are not important.
"Now the challenge for us is to keep that level of competition. The most important thing is the three points and we need to use it as an example for the future."
With Jan Vertonghen only fit enough following a hamstring injury to make Pochettino's bench, the Spurs manager kept faith with 20-year-old Juan Foyth next to Toby Alderweireld.
Despite being fortunate not to concede a penalty for a foul on Eden Hazard in the box, Foyth re-paid Pochettino's faith with an otherwise solid performance.
And when asked about the young defender, Pochettino said: "It's not about the names on the pitch, it's about the right attitude.

"We need to realise, with the right attitude, we can compete. But when we struggle to show the quality, we show a lack of aggression, will and attitude.
"And that's when it's difficult to perform like we did today."
