Tottenham are still to decide where they will play all of their Champions League home group games.

Spurs will definitely play their first home game at Wembley, where they have spent the last two years in the Champions League.

Last season, they beat Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Apoel Nicosia at the national stadium.

The club’s £850million stadium project has been delayed until at least November following issues with the critical safety systems and Spurs were set to continue talks with Uefa about their remaining two home matches after Thursday’s draw.

The venues are likely to listed as ‘to be confirmed’ until a decision has been reached.

The European governing body have no hard and fast rules about home stadiums but they are expected to push Spurs into playing all three group games at the national stadium, before the club move into their new home.

Spurs have an agreement with the Football Association to play a ‘small number’ of Premier League and Champions League games at Wembley and they will definitely host Cardiff and Liverpool there in the league, having already beaten Fulham 3-1 at their temporary home.

Spurs are in Pot Two for the Champions League draw alongside Manchester United, while Premier League champions Manchester City are in Pot 1 and last season’s runners-up Liverpool are in Pot 3.

Barcelona, Bundesliga runners-up Schalke and Inter Milan would be a potentially worst-case scenario draw for Spurs but they would welcome Lokomotiv Moscow, PSV Eindhoven and Brugge. Spurs will also discover their League Cup third-round opponents on Thursday and they will have the option to reverse the fixture or play at a neutral venue should they be drawn at home.

Meanwhile, the club is waiting for Manchester City and the Premier League to confirm if they can face Pep Guardiola’s side at Wembley on October 29 — a day later than planned — because their new stadium will not be ready in time and there is an NFL match at Wembley on the original date.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino wants to play on the Monday night but City may have concerns about the state of the Wembley pitch, which is likely to be churned-up during the sold-out NFL match between the Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars.
