Harry Kane targets Tottenham vs Liverpool Champions League Final return

Harry Kane is optimistic that he will be fit for Tottenham's all-English Champions League Final against Liverpool on June 1.

Tottenham replicated Liverpool's Champions League miracle as Lucas Moura's dramatic second-half hat-trick set up a stunning 3-2 win over Ajax - and an all-English final.

Spurs were dead and buried at half-time in the second leg at the Johan Cryuff ArenA as they trailed the Amsterdam team 2-0 on the night and 3-0 on aggregate after goals from Matthijs De Ligt and Hakim Ziyech.

However, a miraculous comeback, spearheaded by Moura, was completed deep into added time when the Brazilian slotted home a loose ball to seal away goals success and spark amazing scenes in Amsterdam.

Tottenham have reached the Final despite being without Kane since the first leg of their remarkable quarter-final against Manchester City.

The 25-year-old suffered 'significant' ankle ligament damage in the 1-0 victory over City in north London, and missed the incident-filled 4-3 defeat at the Etihad Stadium, which saw Spurs advance on away goals.

Asked by BT Sport's Des Kelly if Kane will be available in time for the June 1 final, former Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas said: "He basically said to me yes, he should be fit for the Final."

And following the game, Kane told reporters: "Hopefully [I will be fit]. Rehab is going well so far. I start straight-line running this week.

"We'll see. So far so good, so if it carries on as it should I would hope to be. There's still a few weeks to go."

With Spurs having progressed through two rounds without him and Lucas racking up three goals on Wednesday, Kane added: "We beat City, we beat Ajax in the semi... I've got to start training even harder and prove myself in front of the gaffer!

"Hopefully I'll be back fit and try to get a starting place."
