Tottenham's Champions League group has "no clear favourites", according to Bayer Leverkusen CEO Michael Schade.
Mauricio Pochettino's side learned all of their Group Stage opponents in Thursday's draw and will face the Bundesliga club, CSKA Moscow and Monaco.
Spurs are only competing in Europe's elite competition for the second time in their history - and will stage their home games at Wembley - but will be expected to progress to the knock-out stages.
Pochettino has backed Spurs to rise to the occasion but Leverkusen appear to be equally optimistic that they can finish in the top two and progress.
“It’s an interesting group and there are no clear favourites. Tottenham is probably the most attractive draw for our fans," Schade told Leverkusen's official website.
"The quality of all the opponents presents us with a great challenge. But one thing is clear: the Round of 16 is the target for all of us.”
Sporting director Rudi Voller has echoed those sentiments and believes Group E is a level playing field.
"It’s definitely the most evenly balanced of all the groups and anything’s possible. In Monaco from pot four we’ve been drawn against one of the toughest opponents.
"Tottenham are very strong, and Moscow are the Russian champions. But we go into the group stage in optimistic mood. We want to go through,” he added.
Leverkusen have competed in the Champions League in the past three seasons but failed to progress from their group last term and dropped in the Europa League, where they lost to Villarreal in the round of 16.
Tottenham host Monaco in their first group game before travelling to Moscow on matchday two and will not face Leverkusen until October.
