Mauricio Pochettino says Tottenham will wait before deciding whether to risk Eric Dier and Danny Rose against CSKA Moscow on Tuesday.

The pair are edging closer to full fitness after overcoming injuries, but missed Saturday's victory over Middlesbrough.

Spurs travel to Russia in midweek knowing anything but victory will leave them facing an uphill battle in their bid to progress beyond the Champions League group stages following defeat to Monaco at Wembley earlier this month.

Mousa Dembele was also absent for Tottenham's win at the Riverside, while Moussa Sissoko was substituted in the 70th minute with suspected concussion and it remains unclear whether either will be in contention for the trip to Arena Khimki.

Pochettino admitted: "We will assess Moussa [on Sunday].

"We have some players like Erik Dier and Danny Rose who are very close to fitness, and we have to see whether we will take some risks of not."
