Harry Kane has set his sights on scoring 50 goals next season as he reflects on another impressive campaign for Tottenham.
The striker scored 35 goals in all competitions for Spurs last season despite missing two significant periods with separate ankle ligament problems.
Kane scored eight goals in Tottenham's final three games of the Premier League season to clinch a second straight Golden Boot award and hopes to blow away rivals again next season.
“[50 goals] It’s a target I would love to get to. Hopefully I can stay fit for the whole season next season," the Spurs striker said.
“That’s always the aim and 50 goals is something I would love to achieve.
“It was a very good year this year. There is plenty still to work on and improve, but I’m looking forward to having a break and then going again.”
Kane continued his fine goalscoring form following the conclusion of the domestic season. He grabbed a goal in the friendly win over Kitchee SC in May before adding three in two games for England during the recent international fixtures.
The 23-year-old will now take a break before Tottenham's pre-season schedule begins against PSG in Orlando on July 23.
“It’s just a shame this season is ending. I still feel fresh," he added.
“Having the injuries I had, I was out for three months, so I still feel physically in good shape.
“It’s a shame the season has ended but there is stuff to work on for next year.
“I’ve got a nice break now. I’ll enjoy it and refresh the mind more than anything and come back next season and hopefully do even better.”
