Diego Costa's summer move from Chelsea to China appears to be edging closer after Tianjin Quanjian chairman Shu Yuhui confirmed the club had agreed personal terms with 'two or three' star players.

Tianjin Quanjian are looking to buy Costa in a £76m deal and there have been reports in Spain that the Spain international has already signed a pre-contract with the Chinese Super League club.

While it is believed that is not the case, Yuhui has revealed that he has been in talks with Costa's representatives.

He said: "The only thing I can reveal right now is that we have agreed terms with two or three stars.

"The players have no problem with the deals and their clubs are also willing to let them leave.

"The only issue that remains unresolved is reaching agreements with their respective clubs over the transfer fees."

Yuhui revealed at the end of last month that he was still working to buy the forward having failed to convince Chelsea to sell him in January.

The Blues were determined to keep hold of Costa, who has scored 19 League goals this season, in order to maintain their title challenge as well as win the FA Cup.

But with Costa having just two years left to run on his current deal after the season ends, Chelsea will consider offers.

The 28-year-old has never fully settled in London since joining from Atletico Madrid for £32m in 2014 and talks of contract extension have failed to progress.

Costa stands to make in excess of £570,000-a-week at Tianjin Quanjian, nearly four times what he currently earns at Stamford Bridge.

Along with Costa, Tianjin have been looking at other forwards, including Edinson Cavani, Radamel Falcao, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Karim Benzema and Nikola Kalinic.

Yuhui added: "It's safe to say we did make contact with all of those players, some of whom are still in talks with us.

"The player we buy should satisfy two requirements. First, he is suitable to the style of football we play; and second, he has the right attitude."

Chelsea are planning to spend heavily in the summer and should Costa leave, they will look to buy two centre forwards.

Romelu Lukaku, Alvaro Morata, Alexis Sanchez and Moussa Dembele are all on their wish-list.
