Real Madrid have not been in contact with former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, his brother Daniele has revealed.

Conte is one of the coaches in the frame to take over from Julen Lopetegui, who is under intense pressure at Real following a run of poor results over the past few weeks.

But Daniele Conte, who is also his brother’s agent, told Cadena SER: “Antonio is on holiday. He has not received any call from Real Madrid.”

The former Blues boss, who won a Premier League title and an FA Cup in his two seasons at Stamford Bridge, is currently out of work and his brother hinted that he may be interested in a move to Spain in future.

“Real Madrid are a great club, he said. “Although there has not been any contact.”

It was confirmed on Tuesday night that Lopetegui (above) would be in the Real dugout for Sunday’s El Clasico clash with Barcelona, but questions remain over the former Spain coach’s long-term future at the Santiago Bernabeu.
