Tottenham's Davinson Sanchez says 'everybody knows what I can become' after club-record deal

Tottenham’s club record signing Davinson Sanchez thinks 'everybody knows' what he can become and believes he can make a ‘big contribution’ to Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

The 21-year-old, who arrived in north London on a six-year-deal from Ajax on Wednesday, says he’s settled quickly and has revealed what Spurs fans can expect from him.

“I already feel at home here,” Sanchez told the club’s official website.

“This is a massive opportunity for me because of what of what Tottenham represents, not just here in England but around the world.

“I’m strong in the tackle and always try to play proper football, I think that those are my main characteristics.

“I think everybody knows what I can become and what I can bring to the club, such as my pace and my mental strength. I think that makes me a player that can make a big contribution for Tottenham.”

The Colombian international, brought in to add competition to fellow former Ajax defenders Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen, feels that his new side are ready to take on any opposition this season.

“This is one of the biggest clubs in the league we can compete on any level and with any team.

“Being able to work with players of this calibre gives you the opportunity to develop individually too, I think that when the whole group improves so too do the individuals.”
