Under-pressure AFC Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley insists he will not walk away from the club.

Ardley is fighting to save his job after six straight defeats which have left Wimbledon in the League One relegation zone.

Wimbledon chief executive Erik Samuelson this week backed Ardley and the 46-year-old boss said: “I am not a quitter. I have never quit on this club, I couldn’t.

“I do not think I could leave this club with me being a quitter. It is not my way, it was not my way as a player and it is certainly not going to be my way as a manager.

“The board have backed me for now. I thank them for that support but the reality is that things have not been good enough.

“I realise I am very fortunate to still be here. I am under no illusions what will happen [if things do not improve] but I will give it my all.”
