The Chile international's future at the Emirates Stadium remains up in the air as he approaches the final 12 months of his contract.

As exclusively revealed by Standard Sport in April, Arsenal have offered Sanchez an extension worth £300,000 a week to make him the highest-paid player in their history.

But Bolt, a well-known United fan, sees the forward's future away from north London and feels the former Barcelona man's talents would complement Jose Mourinho's squad.

When asked about Sanchez by Fox Sports Vivo, Bolt said: "I know that he plays for Arsenal, he should leave"

"He would be great [at United], he's a player I've always said over that years who is great at picking the ball up and creating chances for other people. He's proven himself to be one of the best."

Bolt is set to retire from athletics and hopes to be afforded the chance to fulfil a long-term ambition to impress for United.

"There are many things I can do," Bolt said on his future plans.

"I will definitely be sticking around track and field, my charites I want to work on and I've always said I wanted to try to play football so we will see how that works out.

"You never know where it will be, but I definitely want to get a chance [at United] to see."
