Watch: Arsenal loanee Joel Campbell scores stunner against Manchester United

Standard Sport26 February 2014

Manchester United are facing an uphill battle to qualify for the last eight of the Champions League after Arsenal forward Joel Campbell scored the eighth goal of his Olympiakos loan spell to double the hosts’ lead in Athens.

Campbell joined the Gunners in 2011 but has since enjoyed temporary stints at Lorient and Real Betis, before his most fruitful spell to date at the Karaiskakis Stadium.

The 21-year-old spoke of his belief beforehand that the Greek champions could get the better of the Reds – who failed in a bid to lure him in 2011.

And his second-half effort made it 2-0 to an Olympiakos side that showed no sign they were missing £12million forward Kostas Mitroglou who left for Fulham last month.

Campbell picked up possession 30 yards out before dancing round Michael Carrick and curling a stunning shot around Rio Ferdinand and into David De Gea’s far corner.
